Quick Answer: How the Economy Works in Apocalypter

The currency is rusted nuts โ€” collect them from loot and spend them with traders. Merchants buy and sell randomized stock, so the economy loop is: scavenge loot, sell what you do not need, buy the specific parts and gear you do. No auctions, no crafting benches โ€” just rusted nuts changing hands in the wasteland.

  • Income: loot you sell โ€” surplus parts, duplicate gear, junk from every run
  • Spending: car parts, character upgrades, ammo, healing items
  • Golden rule: storage upgrades pay for themselves โ€” bigger hauls every single run

The Full Loop

The loop compounds through your car: more storage โ†’ longer loot runs โ†’ more rusted nuts โ†’ better parts and upgrades โ†’ safer, deeper runs. The trader's randomized stock is the pacing mechanism โ€” sometimes the part you need simply is not for sale, which is what the save-and-reload reroll exists for.

Sell aggressively. Anything you have two of, one is inventory; the other is rusted nuts waiting.
