Quick Answer: How Does Body Armor Work?
Body armor is the first of the four official character upgrades, and the one your survival math leans on hardest. Enemies in Apocalypter use real weapons — melee and guns with different stats and calibers — and armor reduces what those hits do to you. Loot it, buy it with rusted nuts from traders, or take it from the enemies who no longer need it.

Why Armor First
The early game is melee-heavy — ammo is scarce, so both you and the scavengers swing steel. Armor wins those trades. As guns enter your arsenal (and your enemies'), armor stays relevant: calibers differ, but nothing in the stat line helps you more than not dying.

The exact armor tier list and damage-reduction numbers are being crowdsourced during launch week. Confirmed: body armor exists as an official upgrade, it stacks with the healing kit, and it is purchasable from traders. Tier tables land here once the community verifies them.
