Eat, drink and manage your needs or the wasteland collects. Official food sources: bugs, dog food, mystery meats — plus hunting, butchering and cooking animals and mutants. Water comes from dew collectors. The strongest play is mounting maggot farms and dew collectors on your car so food and water produce themselves while you drive.

The official survival loop includes butchering animals and mutants and cooking their meat. Cooked meat is the quality tier of the food system — raw looted cans keep you alive, the hunt-cook cycle keeps you thriving. Any weapon works for hunting; the car turns the harvest into a haul.

Dew collectors are the water answer — mount them on the vehicle and they produce while you roam. Until you have one, treat water like ammo: looted, budgeted, never wasted. Thirst kills runs that violence never touches.

Portable maggot farms (food), dew collectors (water) and weed and tobacco plants round out the official on-vehicle agriculture. A fully built car deletes the return trip from your logistics — you eat what it grows, drink what it collects, and only stop for fuel, parts and warlords.

Healing is a separate system: bandages and first aid kits are the official medical kit, lootable and buyable. Body armor reduces the damage that creates the need. Sleep matters too — the official feature list includes the survival needs loop, so plan long expeditions around rest stops, not just fuel.
